2. Required Materials

For School:

1. A musical instrument – Only a limited number of school owned instruments are available. It is recommended that students purchase their own instruments. This will foster a sense of pride and respect toward the instrument and its care.

2. Pencils - You should always have a pencil on your music stand!

3. Book – Students should have a copy of Foundations for Superior Performance for their instrument.

4. Percussion – Percussion students should have the following items: drum sticks, drum practice pad, practice bell set, Alfred’s Drum Method, Book 1, and Primary Handbook for Mallets by Garwood Haley.

For Home:

1. Folding music stand.

2. Metronome and Tuner. Consider a metronome/tuner combination as a more economical choice. Percussionists may want a metronome that has an earphone port.
